Pre Show Fun: Magic Kramer’s “Sweet Angel”!!!

I’ve been playing songs from the album “American” by singer/songwriter/guitarist Magic Kramer since the beginning of the year on both of my shows, “Prime Time Theme Attic” on Mondays from 8PM-10PM ET, and “Theme Attic” on Wednesdays from 10AM-12 Noon ET.

It has consistently been hovering in either the top slot or close to it for the past two months. The album features creative wordplay, and songs stuffed full of hooks. It is a roots treasure trove of catchy country/rock/blues tunes!

One song, “Sweet Angel” both opens and closes the album with different arrangements. The first version is a laid back one that would sound right at home on any honky tonk jukebox.

The album closer is a gospel arrangement more appropriate to it’s song title. There is an angelic choir that swells in harmony until the spell is broken by those “saddest words of all: LAST CALL” (spoken).

Either version is just great as is, but it’s fun to compare them side by side!
