Three New Halloweenie Videos That Are Hellagood!!!

While most of us have been spending the Halloween season revisiting old favorites, several musicians have been working up some spooky new fun.

Dearborn, Michigan’s Jo Serrappere and her band The LaFawndas haven’t even released their new album “Dollar Store Nation” yet—that happens this Saturday, November 5th at The Ark in Ann Arbor, but the band was dying to release their new video. And it’s awesomely creepy!

It’s an animated version of the song, “Livin’ the Good Life,” in which the ghost singing the subdued little ditty is trying to figure out all of her haunting options. The conclusion she comes to is why haunt some low life place when you can do the same thing at a rich location and rub ectoplasmic elbows with the upper crust? There are plenty of animated cameos including Clark Gable and a priceless prize fight between Edison and Tesla! The video is both directed and animated by Matt Rasch and perfectly captures the feeling of the song!

The next video is only a few weeks old itself. Xposed 4Heads, a band from Milwaukee that has a Devo vein in its makeup, takes DIY to the extreme for its new video, “Save All Monsters.” The lo-tech nature of the video contributes to the silliness of the experience that features all of the classic monsters mentioned in puns throughout the song. I’m sure that “The Monster Mash” was an inspiration for the song and video, and its heart is in the right place—if it had one!

Finally, New York singer/ songwriter, Jen Houston, delivers a delightfully spooky portrayal of a song from her latest album, “I Was Told There Would Be Pie.” She does a great job as a woman with problems traveling back in time in her video of, “There’s No One Here, But Us Bones!” The video is a “2015 Coney Island Film Festival Winner!” Nice twangy guitar, too!

All of these songs will be featured on my Halloween show, “Prime Time Theme Attic,” Monday night, from 8PM-10PM ET! Be there…IF YOU DARE!!!!!
