Nick Tabarias Added to WHFR Spring Blues Fundraiser!!!

The WHFR 2017 Spring Blues Fundraiser got even bluesier with the addition of guitarist Nicholas Tabarias, and his rhythm section of Donald Waddy on drums and Adam Brode on bass!

The lineup already included “The Garden of Soul” who released their first album, “Forsaken” in January and debuted it on “Prime Time Theme Attic” (Mondays from 8PM-10PM ET) with Phil Maq! The album consists of all original material, but the band has many covers of blues based rock in their catalog. They will be opening Saturday night’s Festivities at 9:00 PM!

With some last minute assistance from fellow bluesman, Jason Bone, Nick Tabarias was a very strong last addition to the already hot lineup! Nick has played and recorded with legendary blues artist Ronnie Earl and The Broadcasters, as well as local blues legends “The Alligators,” and many others in between! Nick and his band will take the stage around ten!

Closing the show will be “Ray Kaan’s Detroit Trouble!” Ray is young slinger, but he plays like he was born with a guitar in his hand! He and his band are proud as they can be and they make sure that everyone knows that they are “Detroit City Made”–which is the name of their debut EP released last year! They hit the stage somewhere close to eleven.

The Blues is happenin’ tonight at the New Place Lounge, 22723 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn Michigan for the 2017 WHFR Spring Blues Fundraiser! The donation is $5 at the door which is a small price to pay for such incredible talent and help the station at the same time! Kitty Luv and Phil Maq along with several other DJs will be at the event, so make sure you also say, “Hi!” Jo Ann Korczynska, legendary blues DJ for the station who passed away last year, wouldn’t have wanted it any other way!

A huge thank you in advance to everyone donating their time and talent to this event including The Detroit Blues Society! Thank you to “The Garden of Soul” for the use of the backline equipment! And thank you to anyone I may be overlooking! Believe me, I wouldn’t be doing it on purpose because all help is appreciated!
