The Philby Top 20 Hot 100 Songs of 2022 Countdown takes place on Wednesday, with host Phil Maq from 1PM-3PM EDT!!!
For me, the Countdown of the Philby Top 20 Songs for any given year has a special energy!
The Philby Award is my digital recognition of “brilliant musical achievement!”
The whole “Theme Attic” show will be an extravaganza of great music starting with a Top 9 at 12:09, and the last 75 minutes will feature a recap of previous #1 Philby Award Song winners as well as some Father’s Day songs!
To try to minimize any Philby confusion, I will only list the winners in this post.
However, they will NOT be in order!
Other artists on the show will be posted in several “comments” posts!

Over time, my listening habits have changed and at the moment I usually listen to albums completely through. I haven’t done that in years, but it’s actually very rewarding—particularly when the album is good. Every album that will be on this list will fit that category.

Songs from the albums on this list forms the basis of my countdown list for the “Top 9 at 2:09” segment of my “Theme Attic Show,” Wednesdays 12PM-4PM ET on mostly alternating weeks, along with my “Phil’s Faves, Songs” lists!

Phil’s Faves: Songs, June 4, 2023

This is a weekly Top Ten list of what I consider to be the best songs that I listened to the previous week. Most songs will be current, but there are no boundaries. I’ve already stated on this web site that I am obsessed with music. I am constantly hunting it down whether it’s online, on CD, from my personal collection, from a library (Yes, I think the library is a great source of music–especially for music that you aren’t sure about.), TV, or radio. Since most of these sources mostly emphasize new music, the odds are pretty good that most of the songs on this list will be new. But in my search, I don’t use any boundaries for the other sources. I am just looking for good music that I haven’t heard, or happened to forget about. Everyone, including myself, has forgotten way more great music than they can ever remember-even if they are also music fanatics.

Also, there will be no rules concerning songs on this list. A song can show up or drop off a number of times. This will be the most volatile of my lists. It all depends on how much music I am exposed to during the week and what I find interesting. On really obscure stuff, I will try to include the source, if I know it.

Spring is steamrollin’ towards Summer so it’s time for another Spring 2023 New Music Showcase #3 on “Theme Attic” with Phil Maq, from 12PM-4PM EDT!!!

Music will run the spectrum from folk to metal with country, rock, blues, power pop, reggae, and many more styles in-between!
Of particular interest is a batch of current new singles from artists that I personally know!

2500!!!

I find this number to actually be quite staggering!

I mean, when I was struggling to put my first post together, I would have never thought that I would amass 2,499 more, and then go further.

It’s been a little more than two years since I hit 2000.

Right now, I really don’t want to do more than wave at the mile marker, and then move on.

I sometimes wonder whether it’s worth it.

Does it matter?

I’m not really sure, but then I stop thinking about it and start to work on the next one.

Some things I do know: They help me to organize my Philby information!

And I’ve been able to bring attention to so much wonderful music!

There’s definitely that!

So, on to the next milestone…….!

Sometimes a song just falls into your lap about a subject.

That’s what happened when I ran across Ted Hajnasiewicz‘s “Strawberry Moon from his “Always Wanting More album!”

It’s a laidback, upbeat song about a Strawberry Full Moon that means a lot if you’re from upper Minnesota: It means Winter is officially over and the wondrous Spring and Summer days have arrived to be enjoyed!

No backsies for Mother Nature!

I don’t really need to say anything more except that The Most Awesomest Song of the Day is “Strawberry Moon” by Ted Hajnasiewicz!!!

The Philby Best Albums of 2022 Countdown #100-81 on Wednesday’s “Theme Attic,” 12PM-4PM EDT!!!

The temperatures are heating up in most areas of the country so it only seems fitting to include some hot Philby entries on this Wednesday’s Theme Attic” with Phil Maq from 12PM-4PM EDT!!!
A Philby is my digital recognition for “brilliant musical achievement!”
The Philbys segment will start at approximately 1PM EDT!!!
The first hour will feature a Top 9 at 12:09 weekly Faves Songs Countdown!
The final hour or so will have even more great music featuring songs about the upcoming Full Strawberry Moon!
Stats for the show are 4 artist debuts, 2 new releases, 1 unreleased world premiere and 13 artists with SE Michigan Ties, and 2 singles!
Artists on other parts of the show will be mentioned in the comments section to avoid any unintentional Philby confusion.
