The first single from the Detroit area’s “The Blueflowers” came with an accompanying video. Lead singer Kate Hinote takes the viewer on the haunting “Captive.” In the early days of rock, this might have been a good song to do the stroll to!:
Ferndale, Michigan is home to this weekend’s annual “Pig and Whiskey Festival.” So, to represent the pig part of the event, I have selected Bing Crosby’s “Swinging on a Star” because of its “pig lyrics.” Even so, it’s a great little tune!
Representing the whiskey side is a long forgotten Brooks & Dunn song from their third album, “Waitin’ on Sundown.” I still get a kick out of “Whiskey Under the Bridge!:
