#113 February 7th Mardi Gras “Theme Attic” Playlist!

Well, the Mardi Gras show really did turn out to be a “blast from the bayou,” as Wayne Toups might say! I made a lot of changes at the last minute and Johnette Downing, Dr.John, David Lindley, and “Firewater” were added, which I think made the show an even spicier gumbo!

I hope you got a kick out of the “Walkin’” theme. All of the songs are Fats Domino songs, and that one popped into my head the night before the show.

Beausoleil was picked the morning of the show, and it was so obvious I can’t figure out why I didn’t pick them sooner. Micharel Doucet and the rest of the band are staunch defenders of the Acadian culture. I luckily remembered “Acadian Driftwood when I added Beausoleil.

“Java” was a spur of the moment add. “Diggy Liggy Lo” was a phone request. “Obvious Child” was a last minute idea. I meant to play a different Weird Al medley, but I grabbed the wrong one.

It all worked splendidly!
