#115 Black Musical History, Whales, & Winter Songs Playlist for “Theme Attic” on WHFR.FM, Thursday, February 21, 2013, 10AM-Noon EST

This show was a lot of fun!

I really like to put two themes that have nothing in common on the same bill. It makes for a lot of variety.

I almost never give any artist three songs in any show unless they’re the Hall of Fame Inductee or already a member, so it was really unusual to have three songs from The White Ravens on at the same time. I feel that their new album is really special and deserving of the attention.

I think I’m fascinated by whales and had plenty of fun facts for the show.

Other highlights for me were Joanie Leeds, Grand Funk, and Ray Charles.

Any time I can fit Sarah Vaughan, Ray Charles, and Dinah Washington onto the same show, it will be “a rockin’ good time!”
