“Q” Bombs: March 24, 2013

A “Q” Bomb, like an “H” bomb, will be my term for a music video that I consider to be subpar in music, video, or both. This will be a recurring weekly list that will focus on the worst videos that are currently on TV. I don’t, as a rule, go searching for old music videos, so that’s why it will focus on solely on current or recent videos.
I hate to be so negative about music, but when an artist takes a “bad” song and then brings more attention to it by creating a “bad” video to support it, it will appear on this list. I honestly hope, and it could happen, that this list will be less than 10 items, but I have serious doubts that that possibility will happen. We are, after all, talking about an industry that uses art for huge profits. The companies can’t help themselves.
However, at this point, I will not do a 10 worst music list. I see absolutely no reason to waste time reemphasizing bad music. Once is enough.

Another week at the top of the trash heap for Lee Brice. I have a feeling it’s going to be on this list for a long time………………………….

Worst Videos for the week of March 24, 2013

1. I Drive Your Truck—Lee Brice
2. Stay—Rihanna with Mikky Echo
3. Hold On—Alabama Shakes
4. When I Was Your Man—Bruno Mars
5. Better Dig Two—The Band Perry
6. Two Black Cadillacs—Carrie Underwood
7. The Only Way I Know—Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, & Eric Church from 2012 CMA Awards
8. Downtown—Lady Antebellum
9. Just Give Me a Reason—P!nk with Nate Ruess of fun.
10. If I Lose Myself—One Republic

1) “I Drive Your Truck”—Lee Brice’s sappy sentimental song continues to gain in popularity. Take my word, this song will be forgotten as soon as it falls off the list.
2) “Stay”—Rihanna and Mikky Echo continue their boring run ………………
3) “Hold On”—I know I continue to buck musical trends on this song, but I think Alabama Shakes put out an average song with a less than average video……………………………
4) “When I Was Your Man’’—Bruno Mars in a flat line video……………
5) “Better Dig Two”—Better dig three. I don’t know if I can continue to write stuff about The Band Perry’s video…………..
6) “Two Black Cadillacs”—Carrie Underwood continues the number two and death themes currently on CMT’s countdown……….
7) “The Only Way I Know”—It looks like this Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, and Eric Church collaboration will only be around for another week. Hallelujah!
8) “Downtown”—Lady Antebellum still haven’t begun to work their magic for me on this one………..
9) “Just Give Me a Reason”—Normally, I like P!nk’s videos. They’re usually interesting and often provocative and I may end up changing my mind on this one. It loses points because with Nate Ruess on it, the song just sounds way too much like a fun. song .
10) “If I Lose Myself”—I hope so, One Republic. And disappear off this list……………
