I tried to find some information for today’s selection, but it appears the party that was going on upstairs is over for them. It’s possible they disbanded.
Buried as track 7 on a self-titled mostly funk/r&b oriented album, is a sad blues shuffle.
“River of Tears” by Upstairs Party caught my attention because of the 1:19 second twin guitar lead intro.
I can listen to that sweet riff over and over!
The song itself is a woeful tale of a broken relationship.
Some additional guitar fills keep the song from drowning into a river of pedestrian blues tunes!
It feels like the perfect song for a rainy Saturday!
