The New Key Album of the Week: “There Is No Light Without the Dark” by The Stan Laurels!!!

Here’s a new feature I’m starting.

I’m selecting one album per week that I will call my “New Key Album of the Week!”

I’m not reviewing the choice and I’m not saying it will end up on any of my other lists.

What I am saying is that I think this is a good album and deserves more spins and analysis.

I hope you will sometimes join me on my journey for new and exciting music!

Austin based “band,” The Stan Laurels, are releasing their fourth album.

I have band in quotes because the group consists solely of Sound Scientist John Lathrop, that’s his description of himself.

And Sound Scientist sounds a whole lot more impressive than do-it-yourselfer!

The Stan Laurels new album, “There Is No Light Without the Dark,”  is a splendid collection of pop/rock songs full of energy, pathos, and foreboding, that sounds happy most of the time-a feat that is often difficult to pull off unless you’re a, you know, Sound Scientist!

“Lost and Found” is an early favorite of mine!
