The New Key Album of the Week: “Gratitude” by Eric Harrison!!!

Here’s a new feature I’m starting.

I’m selecting one album per week that I will call my “New Key Album of the Week!”

I’m not reviewing the choice and I’m not saying it will end up on any of my other lists.

What I am saying is that I think this is a good album and deserves more spins and analysis.

I hope you will sometimes join me on my journey for new and exciting music!

I can’t resist a theme, so this week’s New Key Album was easy to choose.

Sort of……………………………..

I mean, it still needs to be a quality album regardless of a theme.

Yesterday I picked my New Key Song of the Week: “Gratification” by Paul Manchin.

Today I select “Gratitude” by Eric Harrison!

Looking at the bleak, monochromatic cover of his fifth album, one might think that the inside contents are similar.

But that would be incorrect.

Filled with wonderful songs and feelings, “Gratitude” is almost a throwback to Singer/Songwriter albums of the golden years!

Eric is from New Jersey so it may just be a regional mindset of an outlook.

However, I think the black and white photo reference is to the sharply defined lyrics on the songs.

But I’m also reminded of a lesson learned from my children who both, when shown a picture lacking color, referred to it as a gray picture.

My personal outlook on life is that even when surrounded in a total kaleidoscope of color, gray is usually the underlying color.

I guess it’s all a matter of perspective, and “Gratitude” leaves plenty of room to find yours.

On “Down Down Down,” Eric teams up with singer and Broadway star, Rachel Potter, to bring along a tight pop/rock/country song!
