When I started at WHFR, the station was preparing for a theme week for peace.
I was surprised that some of the staff were having a problem coming up with song ideas.
I thought about it, and I realized that everyone was being too literal about the subject. They were only considering songs that had “peace” in the title.
So, every year, I do my best to bring a variety of songs that bring a peace and love vibe to the show, but things still can get serious.
Wednesday’s “Theme Attic” with Phil Maq from 1PM-4PM EDT will deliver mostly peace related music with a few exceptions.
Most of those will occur during the Phil’s Faves Top 9 at 2:09 Album Countdown.
Songs by artists–of which there are 15 from Southeast Michigan(!), will include Wild Ponies, Sarah Borges, Randy Tessier (2 songs! One with Walrus!), Christian Parker (His album cover for “Every Passing Mile” is in the banner on the the left!), Spirit of 74, The Regulators, Helene Cronin Music, Linda Hicks, Matthew French, Mollywop, Joe Peters & Friends with Hans and Brittany Rees, Julianne Ankley, Julianne Ankley & The Rogues, Neil Jacobson (His album cover, “For Sale” is in the banner on the right!), Wolf B. Reuter, Michael Jonathon, The Bennett Brothers, Judy Banker, Dave Boutette Music and Kristi Lynn Davis, Joanie Leeds, Eric Gnezda – Songwriter and Speaker, Mavis Staples, Ruth and Max Bloomquist, Annie & Rod Capps, Trio of Awesuhm, Michael on Fire, Mike Gentry Music with Sara Gibson, Amilia K Spicer Music, I Think Like Midnight (Futureman Records), fRiCTiON fARM, Robert Stark, DeeCRACKS, Kevin Lockhart and Bill Bosler – Hammered dulcimer and more, Cindy Cashdollar with Marcia Ball, Valerie JanLois, and more!!!
Bring some incense, a positive attitude, a couple of friends to listen with, and come along for the ride Wednesday from 1PM-4PM EDT with Phil Maq!
