The Most Awesomest Song of the Day: “I Wanna Be Green” by Joanie Leeds!!!

I have a feature to recognize a slice of good music: The Most Awesomest Song of the Day!

I want to emphasize mostly, relatively newer music, just like on my weekly “Theme Attic” show, Wednesdays, from 12PM-4PM ET! (But it doesn’t have to be.)

Since the first Earth Day in 1970, many songs (Many of them are great!) have been written on subjects  like the environment, climate change, the current state of the planet, etc…

I feel that Joanie Leeds’ “I Wanna Be Green” may be the best of all of them!

The melody is so contagious that only the most hardened listener wouldn’t sing along!

Ever since I first heard it, I have been hooked, and often sing it to myself as I take out the recyclables, or make an effort to change an old habit for the sake of chipping in to save our planet!

I LOVE this song, and I don’t say that very often!

The positive message in the lyrics appeals to people of all ages, and, in my opinion, is a modern day equivalent of “Whistle While You Work” because it makes any green project easier!
