It’s the 2023 Fall New Music Showcase #1, on Wednesday’s “Theme Attic,” 12PM-4PM EDT!!!

With the Grand Philbynale Show next Wednesday, I was thinking to myself, “Where are the Philbys of the Future?”
A Philby is my digital award for recognizing “brilliant musical achievement!”
Well, they’re right in front of us!
Once a month, I present a New Music Showcase that features 30-35 potential new entries.
That’s approximately 400+ over a whole year!
And an artist can’t make the Philby or Faves lists without having been played on one of my shows
That means that if you want to hear the Philby future, then tune into Wednesday’s “Theme Attic” with host Phil Maq for the 2023 Fall New Music Showcase #1, 12PM-4PM EDT!!!
The Top 9 at 2:09 Album Countdown, breaks things up yet still adds to the new music!
And don’t forget the Random Record Rescue with a batch of salvaged selections that were sadly overlooked for a number of years.
There will be the usual wide range of music from folk to metal and many styles in between!)
Totals are good: 27 new artists, 21 new releases, 3 unreleased, 1 world premiere, 14 artists with South East Michigan ties, and 9 singles!
I will divide the tags into sections, but they will only be an estimate.
I can’t guarantee that everything will fit into those slots, but I will try very hard to stick to them!
However…they are NOT in sequential order. (I often make changes during the show!)
Songs by artists between 12PM-209 PM EDT should include Mutual Benefit, SHELF LIVES, Lime Garden, Eric Diamond (Western Swing Music Group of Southwest Washington State), Hide and Shine, Billy Strings, Pony Girl, Dolph Chaney (His new album, “Mug”, is third from the right in the banner!), Michele D’Amour and the Love Dealers (Michele D’Amour McDanel), Richard X. Heyman, Brittany Jean Music (Her “Lightfoot” album cover is on the far left!), Margaret Glaspy (She is playing El Club in Detroit, tonight!), Kerry Grombacher (Kerry Grombacher‘s “Range of the Buffalo” album is on the far right in the banner!), David Jacobs-Strain (David Jacobs-Strain), Vickie Maris Music (Vickie Maris‘ “Another Universe” album cover is third from the left in the banner!), and more!!!
Songs from 2PM-4PM EDT should include Nick Piunti, Elaine Schoendorf, David LaMotte, The Dangling Participles (Their “Present” album cover is second from the right in the banner!), SUIMAH (Mark Lotus), Matthew French (Matthew French), The Claudettes, Judy Banker (Judy is playing Music at the Gazebo in Ferndale, Michigan, this Saturday!), The Blueflowers (Kate Hinote), Bill Edwards, Jake Godsil Music (Jake Godsil’s album cover for “Garden Dreams” is second from the left in the banner!), Bob Malone (Bob Malone), The Volebeats Detroit, Ben Harper (Ben and The Volebeats are playing Royal Oak Music Theater, in Royal Oak, Michigan on Tuesday, October 10th!), Roger Ponder (Roger is co-hosting “Empty Chair Night” this Sunday at Trinity House Theatre in Livonia, Michigan!), Terra Lightfoot, Ratboys (They are playing The Magic Bag in Ferndale, Michigan on Friday!), Ringo Starr (Ringo is playing Masonic Temple Detroit this Saturday, and more!!!
So, grab something to take notes with, get a friend to listen with, and come along for Wednesday’s “Theme Attic” from 12PM-4PM EDT with Phil Maq!!!
