For some reason, it’s taking me a while to pick a song about this month’s Cold Full Moon!
In my defense, it’s been cloudy and/or raining for several days, so I haven’t been able to be inspired by our favorite celestial guest.
And then I heard the perfect selection: “Can’t Sit Out” by The Blueflowers from their 2022 Philby Award winning album, Time Didn’t Matter!
The versatile Blueflowers, a Detroit, Michigan area band led by lead singer Kate Hinote, have excelled for years in everything from quiet melodic ballads to full on rockers!
And they are always moody!
Each Full Moon has a traditional, somewhat historic, descriptive name, and December’s is the Cold Full Moon.
Well, after the first forty seconds or so of a playful opening on “Can’t Sit Out,” one where Kate clears her throat and does a sound check while someone plugs their guitar into an amp, she sings the first line to set the scene:
“It was a Cold Full Moon”
Now, I’m guessing that Kate wasn’t specifically singing about the calendar correct Cold Full Moon, but for this month’s Full Moon Tune, it fits just fine!
