Time to “Get Buggy With It” for This Year’s Annual Bugapalooza, on Wednesday’s “Theme Attic,” 12PM-4PM EDT!!!

Hey!
Here’s a pleasant surprise! (Or is it?)
The bugs have decided to take over today’s show for the annual Bugapalooza Show on Wednesday’s “Theme Attic” with Phil Maq, 12PM-4PM EDT!!!
It’s a small musical nod to the little things of whom we cohabitate.
It’s their world and we live in it.
However, this year’s show offers a bug free zone: This month’s Full Moon and the 55th anniversary of the first moon walk coincide on July 21st!
That almost makes it “Theme Attic” obligatory!
But this week’s Top 9 at 2:09 will feature a few buggy tunes!
And, on top of all of that, Les Baxter, the godfather of “Exotica,” his brand of easy listening music, will be joining the “Theme Attic Hall of Fame!”
I am also considering part of this show, at least 1/4 to be part of a 2024 Summer New Music Showcase!!!
There will be singles, Rescued Record Roullette, and artist debuts!
I have so many shows planned I need to fit them in where I can and not waste the opportunities when I play a batch of new music!
I will divide the tags into sections, but they will only be an estimate.
I can’t guarantee that everything will fit into those slots, but I will try very hard to stick to them! (It may be more difficult this week.)

Over time, my listening habits have changed and at the moment I usually listen to albums completely through. I haven’t done that in years, but it’s actually very rewarding—particularly when the album is good. Every album that will be on this list will fit that category.

Songs from the albums on this list forms the basis of my countdown list for the “Top 9 at 2:09” segment of my “Theme Attic Show,” Wednesdays 12PM-4PM ET on mostly alternating weeks, along with my “Phil’s Faves, Songs” lists!

Phil’s Faves: Songs, July 7, 2024

This is a weekly Top Ten list of what I consider to be the best songs that I listened to the previous week. Most songs will be current, but there are no boundaries. I’ve already stated on this web site that I am obsessed with music. I am constantly hunting it down whether it’s online, on CD, from my personal collection, from a library (Yes, I think the library is a great source of music–especially for music that you aren’t sure about.), TV, or radio. Since most of these sources mostly emphasize new music, the odds are pretty good that most of the songs on this list will be new. But in my search, I don’t use any boundaries for the other sources. I am just looking for good music that I haven’t heard, or happened to forget about. Everyone, including myself, has forgotten way more great music than they can ever remember-even if they are also music fanatics.

Also, there will be no rules concerning songs on this list. A song can show up or drop off a number of times. This will be the most volatile of my lists. It all depends on how much music I am exposed to during the week and what I find interesting. On really obscure stuff, I will try to include the source, if I know it.

It’s the 25th Semi-Annual “Theme Attic” Hall of Fame Show, Wednesday, July 10, 2024!!!

The weather outside might be frightful (well, at least wet) in the Dearborn-Detroit area, so that might be a good time to listen to “The 25th Semi-Annual Theme Attic Hall of Fame Show” with Phil Maq from 12PM-4PM EDt!!!
It only happens twice a year, and it’s the time we take to pay tribute to those legends that influenced the artists that make music today!
There is always new music and artists on every show, and this one will still follow that pattern!
The show opens with Hattie Webb and closes with Devarrow!
Everything else in between will be from the Theme Attic Hall of Fame!

Phil’s Faves: Songs, June 23, 2024

This is a weekly Top Ten list of what I consider to be the best songs that I listened to the previous week. Most songs will be current, but there are no boundaries. I’ve already stated on this web site that I am obsessed with music. I am constantly hunting it down whether it’s online, on CD, from my personal collection, from a library (Yes, I think the library is a great source of music–especially for music that you aren’t sure about.), TV, or radio. Since most of these sources mostly emphasize new music, the odds are pretty good that most of the songs on this list will be new. But in my search, I don’t use any boundaries for the other sources. I am just looking for good music that I haven’t heard, or happened to forget about. Everyone, including myself, has forgotten way more great music than they can ever remember-even if they are also music fanatics.

Also, there will be no rules concerning songs on this list. A song can show up or drop off a number of times. This will be the most volatile of my lists. It all depends on how much music I am exposed to during the week and what I find interesting. On really obscure stuff, I will try to include the source, if I know it.

Most of the songs heard on this list have been played on my radio show, “Theme Attic,” heard Wednesdays 12PM-4PM ET!
