“Q” Bombs: May 13, 2012

A “Q” Bomb, like an “H” bomb, will be my term for a music video that I consider to be subpar in music, video, or both. This will be a recurring weekly list that will focus on the worst videos that are currently on TV. I don’t, as a rule, go searching for old music videos, so that’s why it will focus on solely on current or recent videos.
I hate to be so negative about music, but when an artist takes a “bad” song and then brings more attention to it by creating a “bad” video to support it, it will appear on this list. I honestly hope, and it could happen, that this list will be less than 10 items, but I have serious doubts that that possibility will happen. We are, after all, talking about an industry that uses art for huge profits. The companies can’t help themselves.
However, at this point, I will not do a 10 worst music list. I see absolutely no reason to waste time reemphasizing bad music. Once is enough.

The songs remain the same for another week and “Drive By” stays on top for a fifth week.

Worst Videos for the week of May 13, 2012

1. Drive By—Train
2. God Gave Me You—Blake Shelton
3. Springsteen—Eric Church
4. Brokenhearted—Karmin
5. I Don’t Want This Night to End—Luke Bryan
6. Safe and Sound—Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars
7. Drunk on You—Luke Bryan
8. Fine By Me—Andy Grammer
9. Is There Anybody Out There?—K’naan and Nelly Furtado
10. Part of Me—Katy Perry

1) “Drive By”—Now I know how people who hated “Hey, Soul Sister” felt………
2) “God Gave Me You”—Make it stoppppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3) “Springsteen”—I have a feeling this one is going to be around a looooooooong time…………..
4) “Brokenhearted”—A lousy review in Rolling Stone is not keeping this video from moving up…………
5) “I Don’t Want This Night to End”—So close, but still hanging on…………………
6)“Safe and Sound”—Obviously this is not one of Taylor Swift’s good songs. It’s floundering around on CMT’s countdown list and VH1 hasn’t shown it. Case closed.
7) “Drunk on You”—I might not feel so strongly about this video if Luke Bryan’s other one would fall off…………………
8] “Fine By Me”—I’m worried. I think I’m starting to like the song…………….
9) “Is There Anybody Out There?”—Funding for this project, like other NASA projects, may be ending soon……………………..
10) “Part of Me”—Still a part of the bad list…………………….
