Most Michiganders have an internal compass that usually points north.
Once they can get into some heavily forested areas of the Lower Peninsula, the stress starts to dissipate, and a fun, relaxing time begins! Hiking, fishing, boating, swimming, or just breathing in the fresh tree or water smells usually unites all Michigan residents!
Philby Award winner Sam Corbin, a member of the Earthwork Music Collective, has a beautiful song on his “Let the Fire Burn Strong“ album that captures those feelings!
Helped along with harmony vocals by Singer/Songwriter Jen Sygit and some really nice piano and organ sections, the listener arrives in the “North Country” and can almost smell the pines!
