Every year, I do a show called “The Annual Almost All American Show.”
That won’t happen this year, but I would have included “Stars and Stripes” by TJ Zindle, a phenomenally gifted guitarist and songwriter!
He can shred with the best of them!
The song is from his Philby Award winning album, “Hold on With All Your Might.”
“Stars and Stripes” seems as if it can be interpreted in many ways.
It appears to be a summation that all of the stars and stripes have gotten the country to this point in history. And then, now what ?
The song speaks to me about all of the blind flag wavers who seem to support the symbolism of the country without trying to fulfill the intent of the mission.
That’s how politics is used in third world countries where most of the citizenry are illiterate, so they get the honor of being manipulated by symbols.
You know. Like a leader that molests the flag to show how much he loves the country to the unthinking masses.
Interpret the song how you want, but I think it’s very powerful and rocks with some great guitar!
